5 Ways to Remember your Deceased Pet

5 Ways to Remember your Deceased Pet
We all love our pets and losing a pet can be a devastating time for you and your family. Experiencing a pet passing away can be difficult to deal with emotionally. The grief is real and can be very tough and very underestimated. Don’t take the grief you are experiencing lightly. It can be confusing and difficult to deal with.
Just like a human death, there are many choices and decisions that must be made to honor and remember your pet. You will need to look into everything from keepsake memories, arranging a funeral and most of all dealing with the huge loss of your furry little friend.
I have put together a short list of a few great ways to help with the grief, plus honor your pet and help you remember them for years to come.
Photo Albums- In today’s digital world, taking pictures of your pet is a cinch. Being a pet owner, it is safe to bet you have a ton of pictures already!  After losing your pet you have options to keep your photos in a digital file or you can choose to download and print them all to place in a photo album. Looking at your pet’s photos can help ease the pain and grief you are experiencing. Thankfully, there are many options to upload your photos online into albums that enable the photos to be printed into a book.
Portraits or Paintings- A beautiful picture of your pet is an excellent way to remember your pet. You can search online or in your local area for artists who provide these types of services for pets. Having a beautiful painting of your pet on display is a wonderful way to honor your pet for years to come.
Headstones- Headstones are a terrific way to remember your pet. They allow others to view your pets name and mark their resting place. They come in many different designs with many unique designs at your disposal. Engraved Plaques
Urns- If you choose to cremate your pet an Urn is a very good choice to honor and remember your pet. Urns are made of different materials such as marble, or wood. The designs can be customized to compliment your home's decor so your pet can be seen in a memorial at any time. There are some urns made to easily distribute your pet’s ashes if this is what you wish.
Honoring Services-Celebrating your pet’s life by having a gathering of friends and family is a fantastic way to honor your pet. A celebration of life by holding a simple service in your backyard or have a candlelight vigil and invite friends and family.  Having a memorial service any way you choose is the perfect way to help you have closure and deal with the grief. Saying goodbye this way is very beneficial for children as well. Losing a pet is never easy, especially for children. Children build strong relationships with their pet and don’t understand how to deal with the grief they are experiencing. Be sensitive to their feelings. Listen to them. Be patient and don’t be afraid to have them talk to a counselor who specializes in grief.
Most of all take time out for you. Losing a pet is extreme and you need to allow yourself time to grieve. Never be afraid to reach out to someone if you need to talk. Don’t rush it though. Talk when you are ready.

Is your Pooch Pudgy? What can you do?

Okay, we have all seen them… A pudgy little pug waddling down the street or a fat wiener dog rolling along with their masters. I love my little plump bundle of fur more than anything and I know I am guilty of pampering her little too much. A treat for coming inside after using the bathroom…to a treat for just being so cute! Yep, that’s me in a nutshell. Maybe that’s you too? If so, that’s ok because we can fix this before it’s too late. We love our babies and don’t want anything to happen to them. 5 Easy Ways to Calm Your Dog During a Storm

5 Easy Ways to Calm Your Dog During a Storm Does your dog shiver and shake during storms? I’ve seen it a hundred times with my dog, Gracie. She silently crawls between my feet under my desk. This is a tell-tale sign that a storm is coming. This caught my attention and I wanted to understand what I could do to help my little one not be afraid anymore of storms. I know many dogs are afraid of thunder. The loud claps and noise are frightening to a dog and they feel unsafe.  They need to feel secure and this is the reason dogs try to go under tables, closets, under blankets and even in bathtubs to feel secure. Here are five easy and simple ways I found to make your dog calm and not fear thunderstorms.   1.      Do not coddle and over soothe your dog. I know it will be hard to resist but don’t do it. Just don’t scream and cry as it will make your dog feel even worse. Let them know you are there and speak calmly and reassuring. Do not show fear in your voice. They need to know th

Stop my doggie from jumping please!

Stop my doggie from jumping, please! Let me guess, each day, when you come in from work, your little furry pal is so excited to see you she jumps all over you, almost knocking you down. You love her and love the affection but the paws and scratches are getting to be too much! And having guests over or a visitor at your door is downright embarrassing with loud barking and the jumping. It has to stop but you don’t know how   Here are a few simple tips to help you calm little one down and teach her to not jump. Doggies want our attention more than anything. (Except for bones or something to chew) For starters, dogs don’t understand our language. We think they do because when we speak they perk up their cute little ears. Not so.  All they understand is “dog” So when you tell them to get down or quit jumping, it doesn’t matter to her, she’s got your attention even though you are giving her negative comments. You might even be scolding her. To her, it’s all attention! And
